The chapter introduces children from different parts of India. They tell us their names, states, languages, favourite festivals, dances, trees and places they have visited.
Ramu comes from Gujarat and speaks Gujarati. Meenakshi comes from Tamil Nadu and speaks Tamil. Gulabo comes from Rajasthan and enjoys puppet shows. Badal comes from Bengal and likes painting and music.
Other children come from Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Kerala. They speak different languages and have different interests.
The chapter teaches us that people may be different in their language, food, festivals, dances and traditions, but they all belong to one country.
