Stanza 1 — The Little Birdie Wants to Fly

What does little birdie say,
In her nest at peep of day?
“Let me fly,” says little birdie,
“Mother, let me fly away.”

छोटी चिड़िया अपने घोंसले में दिन निकलते समय अपनी माँ से कहती है कि उसे उड़ने दिया जाए। वह अपनी माँ से दूर उड़ जाना चाहती है।

इस stanza में छोटी चिड़िया की स्वतंत्र होकर उड़ने की इच्छा दिखाई गई है।

Stanza 2 — Mother Asks Her to Wait

Birdie, rest a little longer,
Till the little wings are stronger,
So she rests a little longer,
Then she flies away.

माँ छोटी चिड़िया से कुछ देर और आराम करने को कहती है, जब तक उसके छोटे पंख मजबूत न हो जाएँ। चिड़िया थोड़ी देर और आराम करती है। इसके बाद वह उड़ जाती है।

यहाँ माँ अपनी बच्ची को जल्दी करने के बजाय सही समय तक मजबूत होने की सलाह देती है।

इसी प्रकार एक छोटा बच्चा भी दिन निकलते समय अपने बिस्तर में अपनी इच्छा व्यक्त करता है। वह छोटी चिड़िया की तरह कहता है कि उसे उठने और उड़ जाने दिया जाए।

यह stanza छोटे बच्चे की कल्पना को छोटी चिड़िया की उड़ान से जोड़ता है।

Stanza 4 — Grow Strong Before You Fly

Baby, sleep a little longer,
Till the little limbs are stronger,
If she sleeps a little longer,
Baby too shall fly away.

बच्चे से भी कुछ देर और सोने को कहा जाता है, जब तक उसके छोटे हाथ-पैर मजबूत न हो जाएँ। यदि बच्चा थोड़ी देर और सोता है, तो वह भी आगे चलकर उड़ने अर्थात अपने सपनों की ओर बढ़ने में सक्षम होगा।

🇬🇧 In Simple English

The poem compares a little birdie with a little baby. Both want to get up and fly away. The mother bird asks the little birdie to rest until her wings become stronger. In the same way, the baby is asked to sleep until her limbs become stronger. The poem shows that young ones need time, rest, growth and strength before they can become independent.

कविता में छोटी चिड़िया और छोटे बच्चे की तुलना की गई है। दोनों उठकर उड़ जाना चाहते हैं। माँ चिड़िया छोटी चिड़िया से तब तक आराम करने को कहती है जब तक उसके पंख मजबूत न हो जाएँ। इसी प्रकार बच्चे को भी तब तक सोने को कहा जाता है जब तक उसके हाथ-पैर मजबूत न हो जाएँ। कविता बताती है कि स्वतंत्र होने से पहले बच्चों को समय, आराम, विकास और मजबूती की आवश्यकता होती है।
